My Pizza-Box Set!!
Lucas Finnamore-Smith, synthplayer for The Wicked Awesomes is a musical-savant of sorts who, aside from writing some of the best jams on the new Wicked Awesomes LP (“Time Shit and Crystal Snot”), and being the the most fearless performer in the band, also has 1000 side-projects.
In the Pizza Box Set (of which there are three in existence - I have one, Aaron Levin has one, and some other dude that I don’t know apparently commissioned one). Each one is different, filled with Lucas psychadelic drawings and 8 CDRs worth of recordings for his “bands” Dumb Kids (“S/T”, Ghost Beach (“Ooh, This Place is Spooky” and “Century Old Black House with a Red Door”) Mile Davis (“Not Miles Davis”), Glass Cannon (“Feeling Like A Bag of Smashed Assholes” and “Cough Syrup Daze”), Scattered Patterns (“A Sad Day in the Lungs”), as well as an older, Pre-Wicked Awesomes recording from The Cadavers (“Autopsy Turvy”, also featuring Thomas Gaudin from Wicked Awesomes).
Unlike Aaron Levin’s (http://weirdcanada.com/the-pizza-box-set/) Mine doesn’t have a Wicked Awesomes “Punk Holograms” or “White!!!” CDR (http://weirdcanada.com/2009/08/the-pizza-box-set-volume-2-white/), but makes up for it with a Dumb Kids CDR and the awesome Glass Cannon “Feeling Like a Bag of Smashed Assholes” CDR.
I’m currently pouring through this, listening in big chunks throughout the day.
